[Last time it had been his back. She couldn't think of too many situations where Astarion was inclined to ask for her assistance otherwise. He was relatively self-sufficient. Could feed himself. Could hunt on his own. Hadn't started trying to bite on the others at camp, that she knew of, which included herself.
(At least, she had no bites with which to make such an assumption.)
Either way, she had little reason to believe that he really had need of her assistance and in many ways, that suited her just fine. As he continued, she didn't know what to expect. Somehow the fear of breaking nails seemed... just like him. Vanity. Much in the way that she realised he couldn't see his reflection, at least he could see his nails. He likely wanted to be the image of immaculate presentation.
At his request, she loosed a sigh and moved aside to let him in.]
If you make a habit out of this, the others are going to get the wrong idea. I don't think I'll be able to convince them otherwise either. So please don't linger and give them something more to talk about.
