[Of all the things she was the moment she got a better look at exactly what they were looking at, Nepione was alert. And a little in awe. Of course, get her in a place with books and that was almost immediately to be her nearest interest, even if she couldn't fully understand what she might have been looking at, which happened more often than she would have liked for it to. The unfortunate side-effect, perhaps, to not being more scholarly in that respect. Had she stayed in the temple, her grasp on words and language probably would have been considerably better.
When she saw him remain on guard, she watched him for only some moments before she took the time to look around, the glow of her eyes helping in the somewhat more dark and foreboding atmosphere they found themselves in. It didn't take her long to station herself at the plethora of spines, tilting to read the titles that she could make out, just in case she found anything particular of note. In truth, each volume likely was, but it wasn't as if she could simply take each one back with her. One had to be a bit particular when it came to reading material.
Scrolls were always a welcome find, at that. Amazing that they survived for so long. She'd have to ask Gale later if maybe there was simply no expiry when it came to such things. Later. In the interim, carefully plucking one book at a time in an effort to not damage anything she found, she went through them painstakingly one by one.]
It's incredible that some of the things here are in such good condition. [She found herself commenting quietly as she carefully made for packing some of the scrolls away in her relatively sparse stash for this particular outing.] Would that I could take all of it back with it. Gale may get some use out of some of these, too. Or anyone else who might see fit to use them. Could probably use some of it to bolster our coffers, too. Not that I think we're in dire straits just yet, but a little comfort would go a long way in boosting morale.
