[The goddess hated the undead, so either Astarion's family would have been ready to call clerics on him and make him burn, or there was a goddess at least slightly annoyed with him for sulling her good name and using her to attract his victims. He couldn't tell because he genuinely didn't remember and it wasn't relevant unless it offered him points of conversation with the cleric.

[He scouted, took notes, explored, planted items- he spent an entire night just preparing that little date and even part of the day while the rest of the group was busy playing little hero around the area. The main reason he sounded vaguely serious and not over the top, explaining her his approach to scouting, was because the safer she managed to stay, the better for everyone. Him included.]
Animal tracks will end relatively soon if you move in that direction, the soil will smell... I don't know how to put it, wrong? Your nose isn't as remotely as sensible as mine but it's easy to pick up traces of rot and corruption when it's been permeating the ground for almost a century.

That area over there is mostly silent, so it's safer jsut to avoid it as a whole, unless you want to spend some time with undead that aren't as friendly as me. [He turned around to smirk.] I could get jealous, you know?
Anyway, just follow me, I remember where that deer went and that should translate in a safe path for us.
[He would fully focus on flirting and being 'himself' once they reached their destination.]
