[No bodies nearby. That was good, wasn't it? And as she thought about it, it was in remarkably good condition. As she looked over the cover and the back in a quiet contemplation, it occurred to her that there was no benefit to stealing it. Nothing interesting in it except journal entries documenting the adventure through Shadow-Curse lands. Maybe some other things further back, but Nepione suspected she wasn't anywhere near ready to start looking at that.
"But yes, it's yours. You're welcome, by the way."]
Iβ [Nepione cleared her throat as she looked down to where he made himself comfortable.] Thank you.
[It didn't seem he was asking for it back, but she didn't feel she could assume such a thing. So after some additional moments, evidently uncertain of what more to say, she just barely managed to finish speaking.]
Is... it all right if I keep it? [Sounded stupid in retrospect to ask that.] That is. I didn't expect to see something like this here. I don't really know what to make of it. But perhaps I will also find what I'm seeking at Moonrise.
[Although she significantly more feared what she might find. Maybe it would have been better not to find anything at all. She wasn't sure which she preferred.]
